What belongs on an invoice?
Requirements differ by country, but a proper invoice almost always contains these details:
- Your business name and address, and your customer's
- Your VAT or tax identification number
- Your business registration number, where your country requires it
- The invoice date
- A unique, sequential invoice number
- What you delivered, how much, and on which date
- The amount excluding VAT, the VAT rate and the VAT amount
