Short answer
A quote shows your business details and company number, your customer’s details, a quote number and date, what you will supply with prices and VAT, and until when the offer stands. This generator lets you enter all of that on one screen, shows the quote as you type and gives you a PDF with space for a signature to accept it.
What goes in a quote?
A quote sets out what you will supply and what it costs, so your customer knows what they are agreeing to. There is no legal template, but these details make a quote complete. The generator has a field for each of them.
- Your business name, address and company number (KVK number in the Netherlands, enterprise number in Belgium).
- Your customer’s name and address.
- A quote number and the date.
- What you will supply, with quantities and prices.
- VAT per rate and the total.
- Until when the offer stands.
How to create a quote with the generator
- Enter your business details. Your browser remembers them for your next quote.
- Enter your customer’s name and address.
- Give the quote a number and choose how long it is valid: 30 or 14 days, or another date.
- Add a line per item with quantity, price and VAT rate. The preview and totals update as you type.
- Download the PDF. It ends with space for a name, date and signature to accept the quote.
From quote to invoice
Once your customer accepts, you invoice after the work. A quote can always be a PDF. In Belgium, the invoice to a VAT-registered Belgian business generally has to be an e-invoice sent over Peppol.
Frequently asked questions
Is this quote generator really free?
Yes. You create and download a quote without an account or subscription. The PDF carries a small Factuur Simpel credit at the bottom. A generous limit of 50 free PDFs per 30 days per internet connection applies to the quote, invoice and credit note generators together.
How does my customer accept the quote?
The PDF ends with space for a name, date and signature. Your customer can return the signed quote or accept by email; keep that acceptance with the quote. In Factuur Simpel your customer signs online.
What happens to my data?
We only use the quote you fill in to create the PDF. Your business details, customers and draft stay in your own browser so you don’t have to enter them again next time.
